Gemma Anderson

Gemma Anderson was born in Belfast in 1981 and completed an MA in Printmaking at the Royal College of Art, London in 2007. Currently undertaking PhD research as artist in residence with the Biosciences department, Exeter University and the Mathematics Department, Imperial College alongside continued research with the Natural History Museum, and University College London. Recent solo exhibitions include Portraits: Patients and Psychiatrists, Freud Museum, London and Drawings and Etchings of Ezo, Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation, London. Recent group exhibitions include Skin, Wellcome Collection, London andEast Wing Nine, Courthauld Institute, London. In 2010 she won an Arts Council Individual Artist Award and this year has been awarded an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, Pathways to Impact Grant. Anderson is currently undertaking a PhD Studentship at University College Falmouth, a residency at ACME Fire Station, and a residency with Imperial College London. Most recently the Victoria and Albert Museum purchased Andersons work for their collection, other public Collections include, The Wellcome Trust, The Natural History Museum and The Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
