BioPhone

BioPhone continues to explore the possibility of semi-living communication devices evident in "Fish and Chips" and "MEART". In particular, it is aimed at challenging the traditional definition of consciousness as localised and individual. By using MMI software (mobile monitoring infrastructure) developed by Ken Taylor at CSIRO, it is intended that the neural function of a fish-brain can be stimulated via mobile phone from varying and changing locations. The distribution of consciousness, though, will not be exclusively explored by varying location. By interacting with the brain, it is arguable that the perceptual development of this semi-living device is indistinguishable from its users.
