This project consisted of collaborative research and practice primarily working with scientist Gary Cass within Symbiotica collaborative research laboratory at the University of Western Australia. This project represents the second and a more sustained practice based investigation undertaken using an actual microbiology laboratory as a working artists studio. It entailed the use of Genetic engineering protocols as new art process and living genetically modified organisms K12 Escherichia coli bacteria as new art media. The research was undertaken using both living vegetable and soil and mammalian bacterium material. Materials included; polypropylene polyethylene acrylic transgenic e-coli ethanol uv light slide projection stainless steel semi-ready made agriculture pipe fittings digital images Duratrans electric cables reflections poly vinyl acetate lamp holders gmos supernate bioluminescent suspensions
